So you have now decided to build an AR-10? Well, building an AR-10 is similar to building an AR-15 in various aspects. Though the process may be somewhat different, the steps are quite easy and do not require any specialized knowledge, all it takes is time and patience. Technically speaking, we could say that the AR-10 Lower is an upsize model of AR-15 lower receiver. AR-10 rifle has more recoil, since it’s using a larger .308 caliber round. Therefore, it’s commonly used for shooting long range. The rifle is appropriate for hunting both medium and heavy game.
As opposed to the AR-15 Lower Receivers, the 80% AR-10 Lower Receivers are not standardized across the board, therefore be careful when choosing parts for your custom AR-10 rifle build. Different manufacturers have their different version of the AR-10 Lower receivers. Therefore, bear in mind that whichever manufacturer you choose to buy AR-10 lower receiver from, should be the one that you buy the rest of parts for your build from.
When you choose to use 80% lower receiver, ensure that you get a compatible 80% milling jig and the right milling tools, since, as mentioned earlier, there is no guarantee that a part from one manufacturer will work with a part from another company.
What makes our 80% AR-10 lower receiver special:
- MIL-SPEC Type III hard coat anodized in Black or Raw;
- T6 Heat-Treated Aerospace 7075 Billet Aluminum;
- Completed weight: 11 ounces;
- Integral winter trigger-guard for added strength;
- Flared magwell to improve mag changes;
- NO FFL is required for purchase, item can be shipped directly to your home;
- As determined by the firearms technology branch of the ATF, this lower receiver is not classified as a “firearm” as defined by the GCA of 1968.
Some parts such as the trigger, trigger spring, and safety pin are interchangeable between the AR-10 and the AR-15. However, there are non-interchangeable parts, such as:

My lower came, I did all the machining then went to assemble and the hole for the mag catch was drilled in the wrong place - preventing proper assembly. I contacted them and within two weeks I had a new raw lower, but had to do the machining all over again, which was time consuming and not very convenient. However, the new lower they sent was great. I was very impressed with the quality of the lower right out of the box. The Jig is fantastic but watch out when you break through to the other side of the lower. The holes of the AR15 plate are close enough that you drill might get forced over causing your hole to be egg shaped. You can always use a larger drill to drill a shallow hole on the inside of the fixture to give your tool clearance on the break through. I can't wait for the uppers to come out! I was apprehensive about buying a 308 at that price, but I also figured for the price, why not? First impressions I was blown away by the quality and just the feel of it. Even made a few of my work buddies buy a couple. The milling went smoothly until it walked during the trigger pin holes. Which is why you should consider doing that before the pocket. No biggie, steel bedding does wonders. DPMS lower parts kit went in with no problem. Unfortunately the buffer tube was a road block. The bead blasting left a uneven surface in the threads. The fellow from M1 offered to do whatever to make it right, but I used gun grease and elbow grease and landed it home propper. Still waiting for the M1 mating upper, but besides that I already see more projects down the road I'll be using M1 for. Remember it's a DIY project. Sometimes you have to improvise. The negative: They said it would take two weeks and I even emailed to verify that. Ultimately, it took an entire month. I was very disappointed that I had to contact M1 Machining twice to find out the status of the parts. I wasn't really hung up on the time because I'm not exactly on a strict timeline, but a little communication would have been nice and I wouldn't have "dinged" them on the customer service. All of that being said, when I was able to find out the status, they committed (and followed through on it) to expedite delivery at no additional charge. Thank you very much for that as it was a show of good faith and much appreciated.
The positive: This is beautiful and arrived in fantastic condition. The machining and the annodizing are terrific! The jig fits literally perfectly and is very easy to use. I am elated at the resulting parts, so the product has more than made up for the missteps in getting it to me as committed.

Just want to say wow stand up company. I purchased both ar-10 and ar-15 80% lowers from them. The ar-10 was perfectly fine. The ar-15 I had a minor issue which they helped me remedy as well as gave me a partial refund.Value Quality Customer Service Price
But where they stand out is the customer service. They were fast with the responses as well as followed up not to mention it was during the holidays. I forgot I was reissued a new credit card because my old one I made the purchase with had expired. So I never received my refund. But their support team followed up to inquire about my recent claim.
